AOTA Inspire 2024: Advocacy and Policy Sessions

It’s that time of year again for AOTA Inspire 2024! Once again, there are so many great sessions to pick from for this list. I must admit that planning my schedule for INSPIRE each year is one of my favorite things to do.

AOTA Inspire 2024 is from March 21 – March 23, 2024, in Orlando, Florida.

Picking Sessions for AOTA Inspire 2024

The easiest way to look through all the sessions and save them to your calendar is on the AOTA INSPIRE app, which you can find at inspire.aota.org. If you scroll down on the sessions page, you can also download a PDF.

Almost every session in AOTA INSPIRE 2024 touches on some element of advocacy or policy. For this list, I kept it focused on general advocacy/ policy sessions or those that are focused on Medicare or adult rehab.

If you work in pediatrics, mental health, or other areas, check those lists on AOTA for other great sessions! There are also a TON of DEIJAB sessions for 2024 that are not listed here. There are so many areas that involve advocacy that if I listed them all, this article might never end!

I have bolded the sessions I would consider “can’t miss.” I’ve also highlighted my sessions for AOTA Inspire 2024 that all take place on Friday. I’ll be posting a lot on Instagram when I’m in Orlando so make sure to follow me @amplify_OT so you don’t miss any of the action!

Pro Tips for Amplify Inspire 2024:

  • Download the AOTA Inspire App and log in
    • Under settings, turn on “multi-device sync” so if you have to restart the app like I did last year you won’t lose all of your saved sessions.
  • Sort sessions by ‘track’ including Advocacy, DEI, Reimbursement, and others!
  • Stop by AOTA and AOTPAC booths to ask questions, network, and learn what advocacy is happening on your behalf.
  • Don’t judge a book by its cover! Make sure to read the descriptions of sessions to see if it covers more than what you might expect and don’t underestimate session with less catchy titles.
  • Make time for posters. This is a great opportunity to network!
  • Attend 2 or 3 sessions outside of your normal interest
  • Talk to the speakers! We love hearing from you and it’s a great way to network as well.

And don’t forget to enjoy Orlando! Make sure to take in the sights, visit a theme park or two, and maybe try out a couple of restaurants to make it a well-rounded experience.
